Cowan Architects put together a team of their best rowers, Dave, Tom, Fiona and Mike, to participate in the 2000-metre challenge for the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability’s inaugural charity event, “Row Hard for Neuro-disability”.
The four members of Cowan’s Crew participated in the evening event which was held on the 15th September on board the HMS Belfast on rowing machines set up outdoors on the ship’s stern decks. The rowing began after a demonstration by the Women’s GB Olympic rowing team, and 25 teams took part, encouraged by support from the Olympic Team members and the very vocal spectators.
The evening was a great success and it raised important funds for the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability, and although “Cowan’s Crew” did not come in a medal-winning position they look forward to participating again next year, and might even risk doing some training this time. www.rhnrowhard.org.uk/
