The practice was recently commissioned to renovate and extend a substantial family home in Hampshire for a private client. The house, originally built in the 1930's, is to undergo a complete refurbishment with significant internal alterations to make it suitable for modern family life.
The property is also to be enlarged with a two-storey contemporary extension providing an additional bedroom, living spaces and a new entrance. The extension, composed as a timber box floating on two courtyard walls, has been designed to reflect the timber frame structure of the original house. The works also include forming a small sculpture pool and terracing to the gardens.
