Cowan Architects is a well established award winning practice offering innovative design solutions coupled with a high level of personal service from experienced and enthusiastic staff.  The company was formed in 1983 and has a wide-ranging portfolio of projects undertaken throughout the U.K. and into Europe. 

The practice has significant experience across many areas of work, whilst the proven track record for residential and healthcare work has resulted in an additional speciality with the directors acting as Expert Witnesses on disability needs in High Court cases.

With the majority of our building stock built prior to 1900, we often find ourselves working on historic buildings; indeed the practice positively seeks projects in this field, and we have worked on a number of Listed Public Buildings, including the conversion and change-of-use of redundant Victorian institutional buildings, as well as undertaking new-build work in Conservation Areas, and extensions and alterations to private dwellings. We are also on the Diocesan register for the Care of Churches.
